This project was a major interior remodel of a 90's home in Louisville. This home had the opposite problem of most 60's ranches; it had too much volume. The cathedral ceilings felt impersonal and a wide curvy staircase hogged the middle of the house. Our solution was to completely move and reinvent the stairwell. We pushed the stairs from the middle of the house to an exterior wall and added square footage upstairs by building a new floor system in the cathedral zone. Not only did we update the house, we added space and significantly improved the home's flow.
