Eric grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. He has great childhood memories of camping, fishing and hiking. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Forestry degree.
Eric has also always enjoyed working with his hands. As a boy, he would spend hours in his Dad’s woodshop. He loved to design and build all sorts of projects, ranging from woodworking to electrical and even mechanical systems. He moved to Colorado in 1996 to ski and bike and play in all seasons. He continues to share his passions with his wife and 2 children.
Mike grew up in Piedmont, California; in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Civil Engineering. In lieu of entering the professional ranks of engineering or large scale construction, Mike felt deeply compelled to become a carpenter. He wanted to know how things got built in real life, not just in the classroom or on paper. In particular, the intimacy and complexity of residential remodels have always captivated Mike. He moved to Boulder to enjoy the mountains and to seek work in residential construction. Along the way, Mike met his wife and they now have 2 wonderful girls and 1 amazing yellow labrador dog, who frequently accompanies Mike to work.
Mason is a Minnesota native who came to Boulder to attend CU. He graduated from CU with a degree in Fine Art Photography. He set his roots here, and began his career in construction. Mason has been involved in all facets of residential construction, operating his own company as a general contractor for 11 years before joining SoBo, which makes him especially well qualified to coordinate SoBo’s construction forces. Mason and his wife have 2 children. He loves to harvest the garden in the fall, play broomball in the winter, and visit his family’s Canadian cabin in the summer.
Kyle grew up in southeastern Wisconsin, in the rolling farm country between Milwaukee and Madison. He was walking the woods as soon as his legs were able and began building houses in high school. He went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Business, with a construction management emphasis. He moved out to Colorado in 2007 to pursue his passion for the outdoors. He started working in the remodeling industry and also became a professional hunting guide. These two professions combined Kyle’s skills and interests perfectly. He now resides in beautiful Pinewood Springs where he and his wife continue their passion of living among the mountains.
Read grew up as a left-handed carpenter in Connecticut. He earned his B.A. in government and environmental policy from Franklin & Marshall College in PA then worked for an environmental NGO in Washington, DC. He spent the next 10 years in non-profit fundraising in Atlanta where he met his wife Heather. Along the way Read found he was happier making sawdust than writing grant proposals. So he put out a shingle, building custom mortice and tenon Craftsman furniture. Heather’s work relocated them from Atlanta to Dallas and then to Denver in 2013 where he built custom residential wine cellars. When not risking splinters Read enjoys passions for historical preservation, snowboarding, and hiking 14ers with Heather and their yellow lab Dallas.
Sydney grew up in South Bend, Indiana, and earned degrees in Political Science and Economics from Indiana University-Bloomington. She moved to Boulder in 2015 to serve as an AmeriCorps volunteer at a local nonprofit, and fell in love with life in Colorado. Sydney has a passion for providing exceptional experiences for all of SoBo's stakeholders: potential and current clients, subcontractors, and vendors alike. In her free time, Sydney enjoys going to concerts, cooking, playing with her cat Kiki, and playing roller derby with the Boulder County Bombers.
Sarah is a Kentucky native who found her way to Boulder in 2000. She has 2 daughters that are the light of her life. She has a BA in International Studies and French from Miami of Ohio. Sarah has always been passionate about homes, style, and design. She later earned another bachelor's degree in Interior Design from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Sarah has a knack for instilling excitement and confidence into every project she touches.
Dave is a native of Tennessee that moved to Boulder for the excellent climbing scene. He is truly a jack of all trades. When he's not building homes or climbing, he loves tinkering with just about everything. In particular, he has a passion for vintage Volkswagons, playing bass guitar and drums, and watching movies.
Luis comes to the SoBo team from Denver. He is the quintessential family man and lives for his wife and 3 children. Luis is also a man of great faith. For fun he enjoys dancing, and is also an avid soccer aficianodo.
Floey is SoBo's carpentry and joinery expert. He's been building things since he was a young boy. Never intimidated by complexity, he has a deep passion for building intricate stain-grade furniture.
When he's not creating with his hands, he enjoys living a simple life that's centered around his wife and 3 children.
